Celebrate the HoliDates®
February Fourteen: 2/14 is the first published title of the illustrated children’s book series,
Celebrate the HoliDates® — honoring American holidays and celebrations. Circle7531, LLC published
a second edition of the title in January 2022. The books’ sub-genre is elementary education and
social science, customs and traditions. The series is recommended for pre-kindergarten "Pre-K"
through sixth-grade students. Ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day are the focus.
It’s an activity-filled escapade through calendar knowledge. Fun is wrapped in the
anticipation of Valentine’s Day activities like classroom card and candy exchanges,
reading messages on conversation hearts and baking a chocolatey treat — all representations
and sentiments of love.
The book explores the curious history of Valentine’s Day and
orients social studies students to the holiday’s past. Kids will learn about the historical
connections to current traditions. Today’s rituals are linked to European legends.
The book highlights American, Canadian and old English holiday traditions with some
historical references stemming from Greco-Roman mythology. The pages reveal a broad
perspective of the cherished and exciting international celebration. Created as fun,
educational stories, many with historical references, the books of the series are both
entertaining and informative.
